Sauder Shoal Creek Desk

Would definately not recomend. The "D" parton the dest arrived with a crack. Very poor quality and I am grossly disappointed and had I know how poor th sauder was no buy. THe chips in the sauder are so obvious and where the hinges are installed the sauder is chipping. They should have compressed the sauder much more making it sturdier. I have no faith that this dest will last more than 1 year but it is painted nicely to give it a rich look. The discription said "wood" which I know is misleading. There is manufactured compressed chips of wood and most people do not know that Sauder is actually the type of material used and not a Brand name. Worth maybe $89.00

My son has the shoal creek bedrm set and the desk is perfect for him. He will be11 yrs and has outgrown his Spider Man desk. It's simple, with a sturdy build, worth the money!

This desk was not easy for my husband to put together, but I think the wood is beautiful and the desk is very sturdy - especially since it is less than 1/3 of the price of a regular desk. Unless you're really handy, I'd suggest paying the $100 to have it put together.

The directions were difficult to read because they had been printed many times and the transfer was very faint.The facings on the drawers did not seat deeply enough like a tongue and groove should fit. Sanding the tongue allowed for a better fit.

Very happy with this desk for the cost! It is heavier than expected, which is probably a good thing construction wise. I do wish the top drawer (that looks like two drawers) was two smaller drawers. But no complaints really. Over the years I have found sauder to make the best home assembly items.

Although I like the desk, when my husband pulled it out of the box to put it together, he noted a chip out of the wood right at the outer corner of the desktop, so it is noticeable. If he hadn't already put some of the desk together, we would have returned it. Its a shame, because, like I said, I like the desk.

Just purchased desk and it looks great. Putting the desk together was easy the hard part was the draws. They are a little diff but it turn out great!

The desk that we brought was a good one. It matched with what we were looking for. The shopping experience was good. The site was also equipped with enough info to decide if this were the right piece. Also the reviews around helped.[...] Pls make sure there are two ppl. to take this up and also to set-it-up. If for a non-pro, it wud take abt 2hrs to put it up. I started at 9:30p and finished by 12:15a.The instructions were good enough, but will require you to burn more brain cells. Especially when you get to putting the draw hinges.Overall good buy and experience

Deliver was earlier than anticipated.

I am very happy with this desk. My husband assembled it and although it did take a few hours to put together (there were many pieces to assemble) it is well worth it. It is a solid, sturdy desk. I love the attached hutch and it has 2 side drawers and a center draw as well (I originally thought it was a keyboard tray so I was pleasantly surprised). The desk looks exactly like the photo. One small complaint is that the desktop smudges easily, but a quick wipe with a cloth takes care of that. [...] All in all, very happy with this purchase and it looks great in our family room.

Desk is very nice, but I was very disappointed to find that it only has 3 drawers. The top drawer on the right has a face panel that looks like two drawers, but is only one deep drawer. Otherwise is looks well.
