Harbor View Library Bookcase I am using my book case to display my quilts. It is great for this because the shelves are adjustable & the book case is deeper than a normal book case. The antique finish goes well with with my quilts also. When I put the book case together I noticed a few nicks that probably happened during shipping. I used a black marker & it fixed the spots & it worked just fine. I am very pleased with the book case. |

a bit of work but worth the effort I bought 4 of these bookcases, for some reason I thought they were assembled, they were not, and there are approximately 27 parts to each bookcase. The bookcase comes in a flat, long box, the parts are well packed with a lot of Styrofoam, be prepared to break out the vacuum when your done with assembly. The assemblers take time to place cardboard sleeves between the boards to ensure they arrive without scratches. There's a lot of packing material, but the product, once assembled is attractive and without dings. The quality of the parts is very good, they assemble with the seams tight and are not fragile. The connectors are heavy duty, the sides and shelves come together firmly. Though the backing is cardboard, it is thick and simulated as if it were paneling like boards, it is attractive. I like the fact that the nail holes are pre-marked, very helpful. The cases, once assembled, themselves fit snug together and form an attractive library wall. In a few minor areas the work covering was chipped, maybe due to shipping, maybe due to removal of parts from the box, take care as you remove these pieces. I found that a bit of shoe polish did the trick with covering the chip spot. While it took more than a few hours to assemble 4 bookcases, once done, they were easy to move without fear of falling apart. I'm very satisfied with the product! |
