The manual could use some more explantion, written or otherwise, but I got it done, so how bad can it be?! It IS a bit daunting when you see all the parts, but I took my time putting it together, anywhere from 30 mins to an hour per session. I guess it took me a week. NO parts missing, NO extra parts. Very well labelled. The desk itself is beautiful and very well put together. It's really solid. All the drawers work quietly and smooth. I'm just really impressed. I'm pretty sure you'd pay over $1000 to find a ready-built desk this nice. Be sure to build it where you plan to keep it; I doubt you'd be able to fit its 190 lbs through many doorways.

Great looking desk, Very time consuming to put together, and the middle drawer has fallen apart already because the screws went to the side of the drawer and crumbled the p[article wood, actually happened on the in side of both bottom drawers, I glued the middle drawer back together with liquid nail and everything is fine. All in all it's a good desk not great but good and worth the $$ [...]

The box was slightly damaged and there were a few nicks on the furniture itself. Luckily the nicks are in places that are kind of hidden.

I use this desk for my home office. It looks great, like a much more expensive desk. The Harvest Cherry really looks nice. Like others have said, putting it together does take several hours. However, if you lay everything out, take your time, look at the pictures several times, you won't have problems actually assembling it. I bought it together with the lateral file and 72 inch bookcase. Really makes a nice home office.

The assembly took time (about 8 hours in total spread over 3 days) but the instructions are easy to follow and pieces fit well...so there was no hassle in putting this desk together. Once assembled, it looks rich and worth the effort & price ! A additional feature (apart from look and sturdiness) that tilted my decision towards this desk is that the two drawers on left pedestal can be locked thus avoiding another purchase of locked file drawer to store private documents. The cherry finish does look very sensitive to scratches, but will have to wait and watch how it plays out over time.
